Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)

What is ESWT?
EWST stands for extracorporeal shockwave therapy. In this treatment, we use “shockwaves” to physically break up fat in a selective and controlled manner.

The destroyed fat cells are then removed via our body’s lymphatic system by natural physiological processes.

What are the advantages of shock wave therapy?
This procedure is non-invasive and no injections or surgical techniques are used. Hence, there is no pain, no bruising, no risk of scarring and no swelling.

You may however notice some redness over the skin for about 1 hour after each session.

What else can I do to maximize the effectiveness of treatment with shock wave therapy?
A simple routine of exercising about 2-3 times per week for about 30 minutes each time is useful. A carefully planned diet is also recommended – while removing fat, we do not wish to re-introduce unnecessary fat by consuming an unhealthy diet!

What results can I expect?
You can expect to lose between 1.3 inches to 3.5 inches over 1-2 months depending on the frequency of treatment and individual response.
